Dorm Shows and End-of-the-Year
Testimony performed for Okada and Twain on 5/15, and then for Cardenal on 5/22. I think all three shows went pretty well. :) I was particularly pleased with our performance for Twain, even though our audience turnout was really sad - I think we outnumbered our listeners! But it was all the fault of Stars Wars, which came out that night; practically all of Twain skipped House Meeting to go to SF for the midnight showing. It was sad. But I think that was the best I ever performed my solo, like, ever. I did get audibly nervous around the high part in the bridge, but the rest of it came out strongly than I sang it for Okada (where I was the first song...aiya). I was pretty happy with it. :) And I was also totally excited to see that people were listening and paying attention to the lyrics I was singing. I could see thoughtful expressions on people's faces as I was singing the words, and that means a lot to me because the words really mean a lot to me personally. I really felt like I was singing those words as if they were coming directly from my life and I felt like I was sharing a part of myself with the Twain-ites who were listening to me sing. It was a much more personal experience than when I sang it for Spring Show. :o) Bryan's and Eric's solos went really well, too! Worlds Aparts sounded *so* good. I could feel the emotion flowing from us as a whole group, supporting the depth of Bryan's words, and that was really cool. Our closing song, In the Light, was totally groovin'. ;) It was definitely the most upbeat of our three songs, and it was really satisfying to see people getting into the energy of the song. :) Yay!

On Monday, Memorial Day, we had our end-of-the-year celebration at Megan's house. I missed the first half of the party -- the playing part: swimming, tennis, etc. at a rec club -- but I was able to make it to the evening part, with dinner and the slideshow and birthday cake and gift presentations. Megan, Bryan, and Kari did an awesome job with the slideshow -- there was much laughter over silly pictures and captions. :)
